Aggregators as enablers of prosumers participation in the energy market
The BestRES Consortium is happy to announce the workshop “Aggregators as enablers of prosumers participation in the energy market” to be held in Vienna, Austria, on 6th November 2018, on the occasion of the European Utility Week.
Aggregators should be intermediaries to put “Consumers at the heart of the Energy Union”. Currently, aggregators are mostly acting for large scale and industrial consumers. Consumers do not have means to trade directly in the energy markets and require the services of an aggregators. Aggregation service providers are therefore central players for the participation of small consumers in the energy markets.
The business model “aggregation of renewable energy” is just at its beginning and it cannot be forecasted precisely in which way it will develop. In the short and medium term, aggregation appears to be more attractive in the field of large applications. The regulations in the “Clean Energy for all Europeans” Package” envisage a situation in long term prospective where the consumers are more integrated in the energy market.
This workshop will provide the participants with an overview on business models and legal framework for aggregators acting in the future markets to support consumers engagement and their clients of decentralized RES production units. The discussion will be based on the outcomes of the project BestRES aiming to the implementation of business models for the renewable energy aggregators under real-life conditions.
The draft agenda is available here.
The registration is free of charge but mandatory under this link.
This workshop will take place in the exhibition area of the EU Utility Week. Once registered to the Eventbrite platform, you will be provided with the pass to access the Exhibition area prior to the event.
